So this Japanese engineering and IT firm invented a new method that could change the game of cancer screening.
AFP reported that Hitachi is set to conduct the world's first screening experiment to spot cancer using urine samples.
Two years ago, the company came up with a technology to detect breast and colon cancer from urine samples.
The team has now progressed to testing 250 urine samples to see if it also works in room temperature, which will make it a lot easier and more practical for the average person to get tested.
It will certainly be good news for people who are afraid of needles, especially young children.
Hitachi aims to improve the early detection of cancer with this procedure and save lives while reducing costs at the same time.
The firm will begin experimenting from this month until September, in collaboration with Nagoya University.
