Lembah Pantai Umno division chief Raja Nong Chik Zainal Abidin said opposition politicians were different from those of the Barisan Nasional (BN), who constantly took care of their respective constituencies.
“Even when we (BN) lost our seats, we didn’t change constituencies. We are still serving our constituents. Take myself for example. Even after losing my seat in the last general election, I remained loyal here (Lembah Pantai).
“It is their prerogative to contest anywhere they like, but what is the reason for doing so?
“In my view, the way opposition politicians always change their constituencies shows they don’t really intend to serve their constituents,” he told Bernama after officiating the National Blue Ocean Strategy My Beautiful Neighbourhood (NBOS MyBN) in Little India, Brickfields, today.
Raja Nong Chik said this when asked to comment on news reports that at least four leaders of the opposition Pakatan Harapan pact were preparing to contest in Johor in the 14th General Election.
The news report named the leaders as PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president (PPBM) Muhyiddin Yassin, DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang and Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub.
