Nooryana Najwa Najib: The Dang Wangi district police today recorded the statement of Nooryana Najwa Najib, following a report she lodged over the seizure of her personal items in a raid at Pavilion Residences, here, on May 18.
A group of five officers and policemen were seen arriving at the residence of Nooryana’s father, former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in Jalan Langgak Duta, Taman Duta, here at about 11am today.
A source said police took about an hour to record Nooryana’s statement on her police report.
The source informed that Nooryana, or Gina as she is more commonly known as, lodged a report last night as she was unhappy police had seized items she claimed to be wedding gifts from her home at the Pavilion Residences.
“Her report was lodged with the Sentul district police but investigation is being carried out by the Dang Wangi district police because Pavilion Residences is under their (Dang Wangi) jurisdiction,” the source informed.
Meanwhile, Dang Wangi district police chief Asst Comm Shaharuddin Abdullah confirmed the matter when contacted by NSTP.
Recently, police conducted checks on three units at the Pavilion Residences believed to be linked to the former prime minister.
Police confirmed that two out of the three units checked belonged to Najib’s children, Nooryana and Mohd Ashman, while the other unit belonged to a Tan Sri.
In the check on the unit belonging to the Tan Sri, police seized 284 boxes and 72 bags filled with shoes, handbags, watches, jewelery and cash, among others.
In the check on Nooryana’s unit, police seized 150 handbags and several watches.
The operation was part of investigation into the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.
Najib had previously expressed his dissatisfaction over the police’s action in seizing personal items belonging to his children.
